Discipleship Groups are for those who desire to explore and grow in the basics of Christian living.
The mission of Grace Discipleship Groups is to provide an atmosphere for each participant to experience belonging through authentic relationships, engage honestly in asking questions about Christianity and the Christian life, and explore God's Word through study and application.
The vision for Grace Discipleship Groups is to provide an environment for facilitating spiritual growth, supported with relational growth, for the purpose of Kingdom growth, so that each participant, whether curious, a new Christian, or seasoned Christian, can be guided in knowing Jesus, living for Jesus, and telling others about Jesus.
Grace Discipleship Groups will:
- Contain one discipler (leader)
- Consist of 3-5 adults (post high school) of the same gender
- Commit to meeting approximately 13 times over a period of four months at a time and location agreed upon by the group
Grace Discipleship Group participants commit to:
- Be present (attend and be on time)
- Be prepared (do the reading before the meeting)
- Be perceptive (everyone participate, no one dominate)
Grace Discipleship Groups are not intended to be offered as bible studies, but to lead you on a pathway of discipleship as you participate in one group before progressing to the next. The sequential order of groups are:
- Life with Jesus
- Habits of Grace
- Core Christianity
- Church History
Participants will be contacted at the close of registration with available days and times in which groups will be offered (dependent on participant and leader registrations). Discipleship Groups will be created the month before they begin. At that time, leaders will notify participants to coordinate meetings. The cost is $10, and books will be distributed at the group's first meeting (refundable if participant availability doesn't match a group).
